Columbus Day!
We had the privilege of going down to Columbus, IN to work with First Christian Church and The United Way as they directed flood relief efforts. We had 18 people travel down in order to visit three homes. Our hope was to serve others in need as they struggled to restore their homes and their lives. With so many volunteers, we split into two groups in order to maximize our efforts.
One group interacted with the Billy Graham Rapid Rescue volunteers, and was able to pray with and for the family they were helping. We cleaned up debris that settled in a yard and worked on mitigating mold that would grow within the walls of the home. Another home nearby was also served by the same group, and needed general cleanup of bedrooms and a basement. We cleaned woodwork and prepared the flooring for the laying of new carpet.
Another group was focused on a house that was truly devastated by the flood. Pulling up to Mr. Graves’ residence was an unbelievable site; all of his belongings were sitting in his front yard. We assisted him in sifting through all his belongings, helping him decide what to throw out and what could possibly be salvaged.
Mr. Graves’ story is an incredible one! The inside of his house was completely gutted. Floodwater rose halfway up the doors (over 4’) and everything he had was damaged. During the flooding, Mr. Graves’ wife needed to be moved to the hospital. Because the floodwaters ravaged the Columbus hospital, she was moved to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
It was awesome to see God work through these kids and adults. They responded and worked together effortlessly to help these people in need. A big thanks goes out to everyone!

When we launched Pursue, we stated the purpose was to get everyone in our church family involved in one way or another in serving. Pursue 2 will focus on serving where your're GIFTED.
What is Pursue? It's the "structure" at Central by which you can more fully pursue God's purposes through you.
In the past, iShare was purposed to promote donations of surplus clothing and household items to specific needs for our mission in Bosnia. However, from this point foward, iShare will be purposed to promote donations of spcific needs for MULTIPLE CAUSES. This would include worldwide mission, as well as those in our local communities. iShare is about the practical way you can share your blessings and therefore join God in His work of investing in others.
